Walsgrave Amateur Riding Club is an unaffiliated horse show which is based at Lord's Hill Farm, Coalpit Lane, Wolston on the B4455 between Coventry and Rugby - see Showground Venue page for directions. Shows take place fortnightly with the season beginning on March 29th and ending September 27th.
There are Gymkhana, Jumping and Handy Pony held at each show and are open to both adult and junior riders
Walsgrave Amateur Riding Club is run by an enthusiastic committee mainly made up of club riders or parents of riders. As with all amateur clubs, although committee members make most of the club decisions on behalf of club members, they also rely on a lot of input and help from non committee members for help in setting up the showground before each show, help with ring changes between events on show day and also putting equipment away at the end. As always, we can never get enough help and if you can spare the time, come and muck in.
It's so easy to become a member of Walsgrave Amateur Riding Club.
You can join at any point in the season, although it is in your best interests to enter as early as possible to rack up enough points to win an end of season trophy, all you need is a horse or pony to compete on along with the relevant attire and safety equipment.
Join at the Showground.
When you get to the showground, go to the portacabin where entries are taken and just ask for a membership application form. This is a short form including a parental consent section for junior members. Complete this form, pay your membership fee and you are then a member of Walsgrave Amateur Riding Club.
You will then be issued with a card, which has the basic club rules and classes available. There is also a score card so you can keep track of your points tally. It is important to look after this card because it also a receipt of your club membership.
